Light at the End of the Tunnel

It is This Thursday. That is D Day.....

We went to the doc today. I am at 4 cm. Which is great, but come on baby, L-E-T-S-G-O Let's Go Let's Go! I had a minor breakdown this weekend about him not coming.

Now, I know you are thinking, as is EVERYONE "you aren't due until tomorrow" And that is why I promptly punch you in the nose.

Three weeks ago, I was at a 2 and the doc said, hmmmm, I bet you won't make it 2 weeks.
2 weeks later she says (on Thursday) wow, you are at a 3.5, I bet you won't make it past the weekend.
It is the anticipation and excitement and let down that is killing me. Because I thought for sure he would be here by now. Especially with medical expertise backing that up!

That and everyone at work saying such helpful things like "WOW you are STILL here?" and "I didn't expect to see you here this late" and "How are you feeling, besides Huge". Well, I will tell you how I am feeling: Like filliping the bird to anyone that says things like: "Oh, with a boy, you could have two more weeks" or "I was stuck at 2 cm for like 3 or 4 weeks" or "I thought you would have been done by now" or "Have you dropped? I don't think you have", or the sweet old bag in the elevator that asked if I was having twins. Twins. I took her cane and hit her in the knee.

Anyhoo, we scheduled an induction on Thursday if nothing happens before then. I would be totally freaking out if I didn't have that bright spot of hope in my life....

Here's to Gram and Thursday: L-E-T-S-G-O!

People say the stupidest things when you are pregnant! With my last baby (#5) A lady at church said to me:

"So are you due any day now?"

"No," I reply "I am only 6 months along."

"Oh, wow, are you having twins?"

Now why would anyone say something like that!!!!

So, here you go Miss Liz, if I saw you right now this is what I would say. "You look wonderful!"

Whohoo! I'm so excited for you! Good luck on Thursday. Other people are totally stupid. Just keep remembering that when the comments don't stop with the pregnancy ending. Stupid stupid people.

I can't believe that lady asked if you were having twins!! You don't look like your having twins!! She is probably blind so don't hold it too much against her. It is the downfall of the elderly.....
I'm excited for baby...whoohooo!!

I cannot wait to be an aunt on Thursday!!!!!! I am very excited. Maybe you should choose a patriotic name for the middle name if he is born on 9-11?!?

That's so funny, my first baby was due on 9-11 too, but I won't tell you her actual birthday, it might depress you.

I was two weeks overdue with my first, so when the doctor said "you can be done at 39 weeks if you want" I said "YEEESS!!" And thus, 2nd baby was born 5 days early. Hurrah!

Good luck tomorrow! I can't wait to see the cute wee bairn!

liz, as an experienced veteran, let me just say: there is no such thing as a due DAY. it is a due MONTH the baby can come two weeks early or two weeks late and still be totally healty. of course, i never went to my due "day", but i feel terrible that doctors try to make that "DAY" your main focus and motivation.
you have already had the baby and so do not need to hear this, but just thought i would let you in on that secret.
i am so happy for you and want to make you a bag. youknow, a diaper bag. unless you already are equipped, that is.
good luck.
